SARA SHAKEEL - SHINING BRIGHT

SHINING BRIGHT

Describe your work in three words.

Love, God, life.

What does your art focus on?

Whatever I am capable of understanding is what my art represents!

What triggers your imagination?

I would say deep buried sweet pain that comes out to the surface as confused emotions eventually creating it into a piece of art!

Who has had the most influence on your artistic growth?

Everyone around me, from singers to long gone artists! God! I see inspiration in the most weirdest of places.

Besides your computer/phone, what is the one thing you cannot work without?

Music! It's the very reason I still live!

Name three Instagram accounts you follow religiously.

Plastik, Popmyeyes, Milk.

Has Instagram influenced your work?

I owe my every bit of success to Instagram! I started my career on it, and today I have thousands of followers, 250k+ on Instagram alone and on every social media platform.

Your all-time five favorite music tracks?

Swedish House Mafia “Don’t you worry child”

Bob Sinclar “Rainbow of Love”

Noah “IT BREAKS YOUR HEART” mark edit

SnoopDogg "Sensual Seduction"

George Michael "Faith"

Culture Club "Karma Chameleon"

Your five all-time favourite movies?

Top Secret

Gladiator

Titanic

Silence of the Lambs

La Vita è Bella (Life is Beautiful)

Tell us about your biggest failure

Haha, I failed my last year of dental school, made me who I am today! for if I never failed, I would have been a regular old dentist never knowing the the Sara I am today. Even the sound of it makes me sad! I am glad I failed! I couldn’t be more thankful.

Who is your dream collaboration?
Making films, short movies, creating poster art for everyone all around the world. from films, to music to art direction. I have taken the first step by creating short animations, album poster/cover for axwell & ingrosso (ex members of Swedish House Mafia) that was the best moment of my life. It’s funny because it’s been only a year being an artist, and I get to say that!

What keeps you going?

I’ve realised the power I have of creating art is a gift from God, and I need to thank him every time I create something! It’s a form of worship that I need to do every day and that itself keeps me going! Just to make him happy! lol I hope I made sense.
